Join me as I attempt to create a poem a day... whether awesome, bawdy, corny, dreadful, entertaining, fabulous, gross or hilariously hokey, I will try to string together everything from couplets to limericks - just for the fun of fiddling with words!

Today is quite a special day. I have actually reached the one year mark. I posted my first poem on May 3^rd, 2011. I have had a great time doing this. It has basically become a habit and I don’t really want to stop. So, I am going to continue this thread because I have enjoyed it so much. It’s true that most of the poems were terrible. Some were good (or at least I thought so!) but mostly they were a reflection of something I either saw that day, thought of, felt or heard. In any case, I hope you have enjoyed the ride as much as I have. Here’s to letting the word out – come what may!

Name

Your name ties me to you
In ways you cannot know
A sweeping fuzzy feeling
That leaves me all aglow

An assurance of the past
Of what you meant to me
A solid, comforting rock
An escape to history

I'm sure of just one thing
That despite my age and time
Your name will always soothe
With no reason, just lovely rhyme

Rekindled!

Winds have fanned the flame
I never thought it could be the same
But it's a better version of the past
Proving togetherness is a solid mast

Warm arms provide a comforting embrace
A secure refuge from this crazy race
Knowing deep down we're in this together
A support, a team, a partner forever

And I thank my stars every day
That fate placed him in my way
No better destiny I can see
Than knowing he stands next to me
