A year has come to a close
Another petal off this rose
Hoping for far more bliss
All the heartache won't be missed.

Looking forward

When will I feel like myself again?
When will it all clear up again?
Is this the future I must face?
The progression that leave a subtle trace?
I'll bear it, yes, if I must
But in better days I have to trust

Having brunch with everyone
Is always just loads of fun
As we sit and chat about
We all give thanks and never doubt
That it's been a very good year
And it's time to face the new without fear!

Thoughts

What do you do when the spark is gone?
What do you do when the day is long?
No one to hear a thing you say
No one to take the pain away
Only thoughts to pass the time
And make you feel its worth your dime

Merry Christmas

No inspiration tonight
Just lots of love and laughter bright

Gratefulness

So here we are one year gone by
And so much has changed in our lives
For the better we all agree
Despite our lows and occassional misery
We've been blessed far more than most
So for our comforts we raise up a toast!

Anticipation

The lights are low and the candles burn
The tree is lit, the presents packed
And the little ones yearn

A magical night for one and all
Filled with joy, we're guaranteed a ball!

Insanity is a state of mind
In which genius can reign

A dusting of snow to set the stage
Bows and tinsel are all the rage
A drink or two to break the ice
And colleagues talk of all that's nice

Get over it!

Your anger is a joke you know
To world it's a farcical show
To rant because of entitlement
Is the curse of advancement
Thinking the world revolves your way
Is the saddest thing to say

Too bad

The tying up of strings
So many years along
Doesn't really make sense
And seems so very wrong

An attempt to regain the world
When it's clear that you have slipped
A fallen angel now walking around
With burnished wings that have been clipped

Go back to what you were
And give us what we crave
Then all the adulation
Will come crashing down like waves

More thoughts

Again the question begs
Did we witness something grand
Was the dot a star, a friend or foe?
Or was it merely something bland?
Maybe one day we'll know
Maybe the dark will start to glow
Or maybe we won't care
Because we'll finally see what's there.

Alone?

Are they really here
Or is it all just fear?
Do MIB save our hides
Or is it something more contrived
One day we might know
For now the seeds of doubt we'll Sow

Reflections in

What does it feel like to watch your body decay
Knowing that your best is slowly slipping away
Feeling youth's vigor diminshing with each blazing dawn
And knowing that your strength is now more pen than might and brawn
We'll all feel that approach far quicker than we know
Since a lifetime is but a blink in graxious gaia's shadow

Beautiful star gazer, what do you see?
A starlit sky or more of me?
Alone with your thoughts, your eyes far away
Wish you'd voice your heart and make my day

Looking back

I never really wanted
To be the way I am
But maybe long ago I chose this
A quest to learn everything I can

I know for me it's not the end
No matter where I go
I've several lifetimes yet
I assimilate all I need to know

I felt the decision early on
When I chose a different path
If I had stayed on the spiritual
I may have not needed to come back

As it stands I'm sure
That the future of my soul
Needs to mature greatly
Before being considered whole

New tech

Brand new toys are so much fun
They seem to fly for everyone
No more squinting down at you
A larger screen displays true
And now another three years I'll be
Making the the best use of you and me

Careless

Ungratefulness is a serious trait
One that builds resentment slowly over time
Think before you act, because your double standards
Are seriously affecting your shine
