Today is quite a special day. I have actually reached the one year mark. I posted my first poem on May 3^rd, 2011. I have had a great time doing this. It has basically become a habit and I don’t really want to stop. So, I am going to continue this thread because I have enjoyed it so much. It’s true that most of the poems were terrible. Some were good (or at least I thought so!) but mostly they were a reflection of something I either saw that day, thought of, felt or heard. In any case, I hope you have enjoyed the ride as much as I have. Here’s to letting the word out – come what may!

Immaturity

Oh you stupid, stupid girl!
Can't you see what's going on?
A momentary shiver
Turn around and it's all gone.

Remember these words I say
You'll think back on this I know
When life's hard and bitter winds
Have had their time to blow

One day you'll understand
The folly of your youth
And wonder with regret
How you missed the deeper truth

Maybe it's your age
Your young-ness in heart and soul
That's leading you astray
So far from life's ultimate goal.
