Watching the change as the seasons turn
I slowly but surely start to yearn
For a carefree stretch of sizzling sand
Warmed whipped winds and an island band
To escape for a bit this reality
And slip from our rigid formality
Into something much freer and less constrained
Which will bolster the soul and refresh the brain
To wile away the long, sunlit hours
And smell the fresh-cut garden flowers
To walk without coat, hat, mitts or shoes
And soak in the medley of lazy, hazy blues
Ah, summer you come but once a year
But to you every June I raise my beer!
Just four weeks and counting!!!
