I saw you in my dream last night
You walked right up to me
You put your arms around my waist
And whispered "let us marry"
Although confused I knew a joy
My heart it beat quite fast
Your lips brushed mine
And all I could think was "I hope that this will last"
You comforted me in my distress
And led me through your town
But when a friend did show up
You left me with a frown
Later on I realized
That the quiet of your home
Was a sanctuary best left untouched
As you were meant to roam
I awoke with heavy heart
Knowing that it was smoke
And spent my day wishing again
To feel your gentle stroke

May 3rd, 2012
Today is quite a special day. I have actually reached the one year mark. I posted my first poem on May 3rd, 2011. I have had a great time doing this. It has basically become a habit and I don’t really want to stop. So, I am going to continue this thread because I have enjoyed it so much. It’s true that most of the poems were terrible. Some were good (or at least I thought so!) but mostly they were a reflection of something I either saw that day, thought of, felt or heard. In any case, I hope you have enjoyed the ride as much as I have. Here’s to letting the word out – come what may!
